Compliance and Safety… The North Air Safety Management System ensures compliance with industry standards including UK HSE and Environmental Agency expectations. Based on JIG HSSEM Guidance North Air operate to JIG 1 and 2 at all sites. HSSEQ developed to align with stakeholder requirements and UK law.

Managed Sites







Based at Manchester Airport, working alongside the existing operations supervisor, this new role will support the Site Manager to actively manage and resolve any operational, HSSE or staff issues and support solutions for the future benefit of the site. The role is accountable for day to day supervision of Operators and Operations Assistants.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a shift pattern (as required by the operation), which will include working on weekends and bank holidays. This is a salaried position.

The Operations Supervisor roles are critical in supporting the Manager in the smooth running of the site, monitoring operator performance, ensuring that manning requirements are met and safe operations are maintained. At least 50% of the role will involve supervising operations on the apron, carrying out Safety Observations & Conversations and assisting Operators with any issues related to the operation and also people management. The role will require excellent people management, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills. The successful candidate will be expected to lead by example, be safety minded, and not be afraid to challenge colleagues or make other appropriate interventions where needed.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their leadership skills and furthering their career in Airport/Operations Management.

  • LGV Class 2 is a requirement of the role as supervisors provide emergency cover, however North Air is willing to fund training for the right candidate (with the skills above), to obtain this licence (a clean current driving licence in this case would be essential)
  • Previous supervisory experience, in an Operational role, would be an advantage

At the heart of our operations are our Airfield Operators who work airside to ensure that aircraft, whether they be fixed wing or rotary (helicopters) are fuelled safely and on time. The role can be physically demanding but extremely rewarding, especially if you enjoy working within an aviation environment.
